Callahan Family Support
Thank you so much for your continued prayer and support of the Callahan family. At the end of May, Jared was in an accident during which he fell through the roof of a barn, sustaining some pretty serious injuries.
We are so thankful that Jared is expected to make a full recovery. However, it’s going to be a long and slow process (anywhere from 6-18 months). After 5 weeks, Jared has transitioned home from an acute care rehab facility, and he will continue outpatient physical and occupational therapies for the continuing months. While he has shown truly remarkable progress, this is still a major adjustment for the family.
Over the last few weeks, many people have reached out to Heirloom and the Callahan family to offer support. While in crisis mode, we weren’t exactly sure what was needed in the immediate and what would be needed long term. Now that we know more about what the recovery process will look like, Heirloom is making a concentrated effort to fill a single, but important, need for the Callahan family.
We have a goal of raising $15,000 to pay for one year of childcare for Jet Callahan. He currently attends a wonderful daycare and comes home everyday singing songs and reciting stories from the day. Knowing that Jet is being cared for in a safe and loving environment will allow Jared and Sophie to focus their energy during this concentrated period of recovery and healing while transitioning back to work. Offsetting childcare costs will also help to balance increased medical expenses and reduced income from People People Media Foundation.
Please continue to keep the Callahan family, and the Heirloom community, in your prayers over the next few months. If you feel called to give financial support, please follow the link below.
Current total raised: $16,210/ $15,000
(this number does not recalculate automatically and will be periodically updated as donations arrive!)
